Critics Choice Movie Award Nominations Revealed

Hugo and The Artist lead the Critics Choice Movie Awards (CCMA) nominations with 11 nods a piece. Both films earned a coveted Best Picture nomination and were joined by The Descendants, Drive, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Help, Midnight In Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, and War Horse.

Best Actor had the usual players and some newbies receiving nods: George Clooney (The Descendants), Leonardo Dicaprio (J. Edgar), Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Michael Fassbender (Shame), Ryan Gosling (Drive), and Brad Pitt (Moneyball).

There were few surprises in the Best Actress category, with nominations going to Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), Viola Davis (The Help), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Tilda Swinton (We Need To Talk About Kevin), Charlize Theron (Young Adult), and Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn). The CCMAs (not to be confused with the Creative Communications Media Awards lol, no?) have long been considered the ultimate Oscar predictors. This year, the CCMAs will be broadcast live on on January 12, 2012 on VH!. This means you can watch Celebrity Rehab Revisited before tuning in.

Who do you hope takes home the prize at the 2012 CCMAs? You don’t care? Comment anyway!
